What cause front shoulder pain?
We may end up injured our shoulder if we over use them, other include manual labour, due to age and also sports injury or from a bad fall. The common shoulder problem is the front part of the shoulder or anterior part of the shoulder.
Our shoulder consist of 3 main bone, which is humerus, scapula, and clavicle. all these bone are connected at four joint. One of the joint is glenohumeral or shoulder joint connect bone on the upper arm with the shoulder blade. Although surrounding structures are supported, this joint will till prone to injury if not taken care of.
This is the injury to the tendon of the biceps muscle, which result to over use of the muscles by repetitive lifting and reaching overhead. Such injury will normally felt pain in the front part of the shoulder, will become worst when lifting, reaching overhead and carrying heavy objects. Long run it may sudden rupture of the tendon.
Another name for this condition is frozen shoulder. This condition will happens if we dont use the shoulder for a period of time. We will feel pain in the shoulder, the range of motion become smaller, and the joint area are very stiff. Frozen shoulder exist because of other injury or condition stop us from using our shoulder more.
Osteoarthritis, also known as “wear and tear” arthritis, commonly occurs in either the glenohumeral joint or the acromioclavicular joint. When the bones rub together as the cartilage between them wears away. There will be pain, swelling in the shoulder joint and stiffness The condition will get worst over time if not treated.
Shoulder separation occurs when there is a ligament tear. Ligaments are tissue connecting the bones and cartilage. Separations in the acromioclavicular region between the collarbone and shoulder blade may occur due to a bad fall or direct blow to the area. Normally will feel pain, there will be swelling and tenderness in the front part of the shoulder. You can also feel a small bump at the point of the separation.
Treatment include enough rest on the region, Over-the-counter drugs, such as ibuprofen and aspirin will be prescribe and inject steroids or numbing medicine directly into the shoulder to relieve pain. Some injuries require surgery for treatment, example if there is any tears involve.
