What is Dropped Head Syndrome?

Dropped Head Syndrome is characterised by severe weakness of the muscles of the back of the neck. This causes the chin to rest on the chest in standing or sitting. Floppy Head Syndrome and Head Ptosis are other names used to describe the syndrome.

What is Lumbar Spondylolysis?

Spondylolysis happens when a crack forms in the bony ring on the back of the spinal column. The bone that protects the spinal cord fractures as a result of excessive or repeated strain.

What is Cervical Spinal Stenosis?

Cervical spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal in the neck. The spinal cord is a collection of nerves that runs through the spinal canal from the base of the brain to the lower back. These nerves allow us to feel, to move, and to control the bowel and bladder and other body functions. In cervical spinal stenosis, the spinal canal narrows and can squeeze and compress the nerve roots or it may irritate or injure the spinal cord itself.


Symptoms of Cervical Spinal Stenosis

  • Stiffness, pain or numbness in the neck, shoulders, arms, hands or legs
  • Balance and coordination problems, may cause crippling if the spinal cord is damaged
  • Loss of bladder control

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is the name for a syndrome which is pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest and largest nerve in the body, it is as thick as one of your fingers where it arises in the lower spine. It then travels from your lower back through your hip and buttock and down your leg where it divides into two.


Symptoms of Sciatica

  • Burning or tingling sensation down the leg
  • Weakness, numbness, or difficulty moving the leg or foot
  • A shooting pain that makes it difficult to stand up or sitting down
