What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, becomes pressed or squeezed at the wrist. The median nerve controls the sensation to the palm side of the hand.

Symptoms of Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Burning, tingling, or itching numbness of the hand
  • Fingers feel useless and swollen
  • Decrease grip strength


Causes of Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Obesity
  • Pregnancy
  • Tendon Inflammation
  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
