What is Quadriceps Tendon Tear?

Quadriceps Tendon Tear is when there is a tear in the muscle that is infront of your thigh which helps to straighten your knee. It is a common injury for middle-aged people that runs or do jumping sports.

Symptoms of Quadriceps Tendon Tear

  • Tearing and popping sensation in the muscle
  • Pain and Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Tenderness
  • Cramping
  • Unable to straighten knee
  • Kneecap will sag due to tendon is torn


Causes of Quadriceps Tendon Tear

  • Awkward landing when jumping
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Gout
  • Leukemia
  • Diabetes mellitus
