What is Rickets?
Rickets is a disorder caused by a lack of vitamin D, calcium or phosphate. It leads to softening and weakening of the bones. Usually happened to children at 6 – 24 months. And actually there is two type of different rickets one is known as hypophosphatemic rickets which is the rejection of vitamin D of the body which is rare and the common cases will be the lack of vitamin D which is known as kidney rickets.
Symptoms of Rickets
- Bone pain or tenderness
- Dental deformities
- Increased bone fractures
- Skeletal deformities
- Short stature
Treatment for Rickets
- Replacing calcium, phosphorus, or vitamin D that is lacking
- Bracing
