Hip Pain

Hip pain is usually when people finding it difficult to sit or squat and they experience an alot of pain when doing so. Whenever there is pressure on the affected area, the region or the muscles of the hip will hurt alot. Most of the people affected with hip pain often have a tough time sleeping at night. Common Hip Conditions

  • Pain felt in groin area, buttock area and down the front of the thigh
  • Limping
  • Stiffness in the hip joint

Avascular Necrosis – Bones are living tissue which they rely on blood vessels to bring blood to keep them alive. If one blood vessel is damaged it may not cause problems, since there may be a backup blood supply coming in from a different direction.

  • Loss of flexibility in the groin region

Osteitis Pubis is inflammation of the joint where the pubic bone meets at the front. Pain can radiate around the groin but will be significant at the point in the middle of the groin at the front. It is caused mainly by overuse or it can be caused as a result of direct impact.

  • Pain that radiate down the back of the leg
  • Sore buttock when sitted down

Piriformis Syndrome is a muscle that travels behind the hip joint. The piriformis muscle is small compared to other muscles around the hip and thigh, and it aids in turning out of the hip joint.

Injection

Injections of a corticosteroid drug into your hip joint may help reduce the symptoms of bursitis and provide pain relief that lasts a few months. The injections aren’t effective in all cases. There is a small risk of infection.

Therapy

Strengthening the muscles around your hip will make it more stable. Training is likely to focus on the muscles on the hip. Exercises to improve your balance are also important.

Surgery

Surgery will only be advised if other treatments have not been effective.
