  • pain when making a fist (golfer’s elbow)
  • pain when opening the fingers (tennis elbow)
  • soreness around the affected elbow bump
  • weak grip
  •  pain when trying to grip an objects.

Treatment for elbow pain

Treatment will depend on the cause and severity of the elbow pain. Some treatment options include:

  • anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medication can help you cope with the pain, but do not improve long-term outcomes
  • taping or bracing your elbow
  • soft tissue massage
  • exercises prescribed by your physiotherapist to gradually strengthen the tendons
  • surgery is needed if the cases are severe, and if pain has not resolved within 12 months.
